Parasailing in Florida was the perfect way to split up our time between Florida theme parks. After spending 5 days at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, we were tired and ready for some time at the beach. If you are in southwest Florida and want to go parasailing, nobody does it better than Bonita Jet Ski & Parasail.
Disclosure: Bonita Jet Ski & Parasail discounted our parasail trip. However, the opinions in this article are our own.
Before hitting the road, we had told the kids we were going to go parasailing, and they couldn’t have been more excited. (Honestly, I was also!) We were booked for the first trip in the morning, so we arrived a little early to check out the beach. We also met the crew, and everyone was really friendly.
Stacy got us on board at the beach and took us out to the parasail boat where we would get harnessed up. There we met our captain Derek and his first mate Brian. They were great! They explained to us how to parasail, how the harnesses work, and discussed overall safety. They really make sure that parasailing is safe for kids, and that everyone is comfortable. They were very professional and patient, which Carrie and I appreciated.
Parasailing in Florida with Bonita Jet Ski & Parasail
Once everyone was in the harness it was time to fly!
First thing in the morning was a great time to go up. The water was glass, and we could see lots of wildlife including rays, large fish, and sharks! I didn’t see one, but Carrie and the kids did! It really is breathtaking from 1200 ft. above the water.
Everyone got a little dip in the water during their ride which was fun.
Each ride was about 10-15 minutes. We had time to take lots of pictures and enjoy the remarkable views of Bonita Beach and the Gulf of Mexico.
After we all made it back down, we all agreed, this was a great way to spend a morning, and Bonita Jet Ski & Parasail gave us an awesome parasailing experience. From the time we got there until the time we left, everyone was friendly and engaged with the kids. Their location is also great – right on Bonita Public Beach.
Bonita Beach Park and Other Things To Do
Besides some of the best parasailing Florida has to offer, they have a great list of other things to do at the beach like jet skiing, water bikes, dolphin tours, kayak and paddle board rentals to name a few. If you just want to hang out on the beach, they offer chair and umbrella rentals as well.
Don’t forget plenty of sunscreen!
Sun Bum is our favorite. It works great, has a nice scent, and is hypoallergenic and paraben free. Most importantly, it’s made with reef-safe ingredients which is now more important that ever – especially if you’re going to be snorkeling around coral.
Since we had a cooler with food, we had a picnic lunch at the park. Nearby Bonita Beach Park has covered pavilions and picnic tables to eat at. It was a great way to end the morning.
Parasailing Prices and Other Information
I snapped this photo at the beach with their services and prices:
We had signed up for the 1200 ft. tandem parasailing flight, but they ended up letting us do the 3 person parasailing trip and just swapping out the adults. The kids got double the fun! This was very generous for a company to do during their peak summer season, and we left really impressed.
If you’re thinking of doing any Florida parasailing, then you’ll want to check out Bonita Jet Ski & Parasail and make a reservation. Their staff really went out of their to make sure we all had a great time. They are attentive and patient with kids, they offered some information about the wildlife we might see, and they were lots of fun! We really enjoyed chatting and learning about the area. Booking is easy to do online, or you can just show up and ‘order off the menu’ if you like. Any way you do it, don’t miss doing this. It was a definite highlight of our #SummerRoadTrip2016!

Thanks for pointing out that anyone who doesn’t want to go parasailing can just hang out at the beach, but only if you remember to bring sunscreen. My husband and I want to take our family on a trip soon, and some of us are interested in trying parasailing. I could have easily forgotten to bring sunscreen, so I appreciate you sharing the reminder!
Daphne,
Thanks for stopping by. We had a really great time parasailing. The views from above with with the salty breeze are hard to beat! Glad we could help you to remember the sunscreen too.
Safe travels,
-Carrick
